【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestmethodistoprovidearelativemeasurementofthecombustibilityoffire-retardant-treatedwoodspecimensbasedontheirpercentagelossinweightundercontrolledfireexposureconditions(1).3Inaddition,otherpossibledataincluderateofweightloss,timeofflamingandafterglowing,increaseintemperature,andmaximumverticalflameprogress.Thistestmethodisnotsufficientlylargescaletoevaluatethesuitabilityofagiventreatedproductforbuildingconstruction,butitisaconvenientmethodtouseforpurposesofdevelopmentorasaquality-controltestduringmanufacture.Thistestmethodgivesaprocedureforsamplingandpreparationoftestspecimensfromalotoftreatedmaterialinwhichcompletepenetrationisarequirement.Aprocedureisalsogivenforthesamplingofchargesatatreatingplantforpurposesofqualitycontrolofthetreatmentprocess.Thistestmethodhasprovenusefulforevaluatingcomparativefireperformanceeffectivenessoffire-retardantchemicalsandtreatmentformulationsforwoodandwoodproducts(2-5).Inthistestmethod,thespecimensaresubjectedtooneormorespecificsetsoflaboratorytestconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheanticipatedend-useconditionsarechanged,itmaynotbepossiblebyorfromthistestmethodtopredictchangesinthefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarevalidonlyforthefiretestexposureconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.1.1Thistestmethodcoversfire-tubetestproceduresforfiretestsforcombustiblepropertiesofwoodtreatedtoreduceflammability.Thistestmethodrelatestopropertiesoftreatedwood,assuch,ratherthantotheperformanceofafabricationusedasanelementofconstruction.Performanceunderthistestmethodshallbeasprescribedinrequirementsapplicabletomaterialsintendedforspecificuses.1.2Thistestmethodisafire-test-responsestandard.1.3TheSIvaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thisstandardshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoheatandflameundercontrolledlaboratoryconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
