【摘要】:Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoevaluatethemachiningperformanceofasinglegradeortypeofmetalortocompareonegradeortypewithanother.5.1.1Themachiningperformanceofthetestmetalismeasuredbythemaximumrateatwhichtestpiecescanbeproducedwithinspecifiedsurfaceroughnessanddimensionallimitsforaspecifiedlengthoftimeandalsobythecuttingspeedandtoolfeedemployedtoattainthatrate.5.1.2Therelativemachiningperformanceofthevariousmetalstestedusingthistestmethodmaybeevaluatedonlyatoperatingconditionsthatproducetestpiecesoflikequalitywithrespecttosurfaceroughnessanddimensionallimitsforcomparableperiodsofmachiningtime.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaproduction-typetestforevaluatingthemachiningperformanceofferrousmetalsastheyareusedinsingle-spindleormultiple-spindleautomaticscrewmachines.Itisbasedonproducingpartsofastandarddesigninsuchmachinestouniformlevelsofqualitywithrespecttosurfaceroughnessandsizevariation.Thestandardtestpiece,designedforthistest,ismachinedfrombarsusingaspecifiednumberoftoolsinaspecifiedsequence.Nothinginthistestmethodshouldbeconstruedasdefiningorestablishinglimitsofacceptabilityforanygradeortypeofmetal.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandardThisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
