【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingtheapproximateamountofnonvolatileinorganicmaterialinleather.Thismaybeintheformofsaltsoroxidesoftheelements.Inamixedchrometannage,theapproximatepercentageofotherelementsintheleathermaybedeterminedbysubtractingthechromicoxidethatmaybeconvenientlydeterminedontheash.(SeeTestMethodD2807.)Thetemperatureof600x00B0;Cspecifiedishighenoughtoproduceareproducibleresultbutitdoesnotcompletelydehydratesuchoxidesasaluminumoxide,(Al2O3)andchromicoxide(Cr2O3).Likewise,suchsaltsassulfatesandphosphatesmaybeincompletelydehydrated,andifalkaliesandchromiumarepresentsimultaneously,oxidationtochromatemayoccur.Therefore,cautionisadvisedindrawingconclusionsbasedonquantitativerelationsoftheelements.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftotalashinleather.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
